The GOTAS&#8217;s logo can be seen below:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dgp.cnpq.br\/dgp\/espelhogrupo\/2952391859402458\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-169\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-169 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/wordpress.ft.unicamp.br\/gotas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2017\/11\/Definitivo-300x102.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"102\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.ft.unicamp.br\/gotas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2017\/11\/Definitivo-300x102.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wordpress.ft.unicamp.br\/gotas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2017\/11\/Definitivo-500x170.jpg 500w, https:\/\/wordpress.ft.unicamp.br\/gotas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2017\/11\/Definitivo.jpg 630w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>In Portuguese, GOTAS means &#8220;drops&#8221;. The GOTAS&#8217;s logo brings the letter &#8220;O&#8221; as drops, because the environmental subject predominately studied by the group is water and wastewater. The letter &#8220;T&#8221; is an adaptation of the School of Technology logo, depicting a water tap.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.unicamp.br\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-106 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wordpress.ft.unicamp.br\/gotas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2017\/09\/FT-logotipo-300x272.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"105\" height=\"95\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.ft.unicamp.br\/gotas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2017\/09\/FT-logotipo-300x272.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wordpress.ft.unicamp.br\/gotas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2017\/09\/FT-logotipo-768x696.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wordpress.ft.unicamp.br\/gotas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2017\/09\/FT-logotipo-1024x928.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/wordpress.ft.unicamp.br\/gotas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2017\/09\/FT-logotipo.jpg 1124w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 105px) 100vw, 105px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The black portion of the letter &#8220;A&#8221; represents the number four, because four sequential words of the research group denomination (in Portuguese) start with &#8220;A&#8221;. Finally, the letter &#8220;S&#8221; refers to the sanitary area.\u00a0In order to contribute with the national and international scientific scenario, the name GOTAS was inspired by a poem, &#8220;Oceanos s\u00e3o feitos de gotas d\u00b4\u00e1gua&#8221; (<a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.ft.unicamp.br\/gotas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/35\/2017\/10\/Oceans-are-made-of-water-drops.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Oceans are made of water drops<\/strong><\/a>, in English), which says &#8220;&#8230; water droplets constitute the whole big ocean&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Research Group for Optimization of Analytical Technologies Applied to Environmental and Sanitary Samples (GOTAS) was registered on the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) on October 28, 2016.\u00a0Enelton Fagnani,\u00a0PhD, is the coordinator.
